The Body Shop receives mixed-to-positive reviews, with customers expressing deep affection for cult favorites like the Shea Body Butter and the Tea Tree line, praising their nourishment and effectiveness.
The feeling is one of loyalty challenged by disappointment, as many note a recent decline in product quality and inconsistent fragrance strength due to reformulations, causing long-time users to feel itchy or switch brands.
Overall takeaway: A beloved ethical brand where loyalty is currently tested by perceived quality and formulation changes.

I like the idea behind The Body Shop more than some of the products honestly. Some things smell amazing and last long, like the body butters. Others didnt do much for me. I bought a face wash that dried my skin out a bit. Staff was friendly though and the store felt welcoming. I will keep buying a few items but not everything works for me.
I love The Body Shop body butter, smells nice and skin soft all day. kinda big jar so last long.
I bought a few products from The Body Shop last year. The Pumpkin mask was okay but did not do much for my skin. Price is a bit high for what you get in my opinion. I keep them for body care but do not use their face products anymore.
I really enjoy The Body Shop body butters and cleansers. They smell great and keep my skin hydrated. Facial skincare is decent but shines more in body care than treatment products.
Not worth the hype!
TOO OVERHYPED!
amazing products! will buy again
As someone with a very dry hand, the caramel cuddle hand balm, is one of the products I can attest to have the best effect on the skin. It is a must-have, especially for someone who often washes their hands.
Reliable body-care staples; ethical sourcing is a plus.
The Body Shop’s Vitamin E range has been a lifesaver for my dry skin. Smells gentle, absorbs quickly, and gives me a nice glow. I’ve repurchased twice already solid everyday skincare.
Their lotion made my skin smoother than ever. This is the first product that had helped in making my skin stop from drying and flaking.
The Body Shop’s new moisturizer felt comfortable and clean on my skin; I appreciate the ethical angle of the brand.
I like The Body Shop for its ethics (cruelty‑free, greener packaging) and the new moisturizer did make my skin a bit softer. But I didn’t feel a big change in texture or firmness. It’s a reliable brand, just not a show‑stopper.”
The Body Shop is reliable and ethically conscious, which I like. I tried their new moisturizer and it’s decent, my skin felt softer. But I didn’t find dramatic improvements, and a lot of their newer lines seem more about branding than breakthrough formulas. Solid but not exceptional.
Body butters smell great but can feel heavy in tropical weather. I use a tiny amount after showers.
