Tarte is defined by hero products, with customers expressing adoration for the full-coverage, creamy Shape Tape concealer and highly pigmented blushes.
While loyalty is strong, reviewers often cite inconsistent quality across the range, complaining about goopy lip products, uneven sprayers, and tricky foundation undertones.
The sentiment is a balance of loving their long-standing favorites while being underwhelmed by the overall reliability of the product range.
Overall takeaway: Rely on their iconic, established favorites, but approach new launches with caution.

Their concealer is def my favorite. I dropped it in the parking lot and it didnt even crack. Covers my dark circles so well and stays put all day even when its hot. Ive bought 3 now.
The price is fair and performance is solid for the quality.
Good but I’ve used better mascaras from other brands.
Good quality but some items feel a bit pricey.
Super cute packaging and the performance is incredible.
Their concealer is still my holy grail, smooth, brightening, and lasts all day.
I recently tried Tarte’s Amazonian Clay foundation and blushes, and I’m impressed. The foundation wears beautifully all day without feeling heavy, and the blush pigments are vibrant and blendable. I love that it’s cruelty‑free and vegan, makes me feel good using it.
I’ve tried several of Tarte’s eye palettes and blushes and have been impressed; very good pigment, blends well, and the feel is satisfying. On the flip side, their skincare line (which I tested) didn’t seem as strong for my skin type. So I think this brand is great for makeup more than serious skin treatments.
Gentle but effective. Red patches on my cheeks faded, and the texture feels silky, not sticky.
covers dark circles without creasing if I use a damp sponge. A little goes a long way.
