I discovered this brand while looking for something a little different from the usual skincare products I see everywhere. I like the overall approach and the calming, spa-like feel, but I wasn’t completely sold on the product I tried. It was pleasant to use, just not impressive enough for me to justify the price. Maybe I’d feel differently about another product in the range, but for now, I’m happy to keep looking.
There’s something about Susanne Kaufmann that makes a regular skincare routine feel like a weekend at a nice hotel. The whole botanical, wellness-inspired approach appeals to me, especially when I’m trying to slow down and stop treating every part of my day like another task to finish. I do have to remind myself that a relaxing experience and effective skincare aren’t necessarily the same thing. At these prices, I’d want to be pretty sure a product suits my skin before committing to it. Still, if you enjoy thoughtful formulations and that quiet, spa-like feeling, I can see why this brand would catch your attention.
Susanne Kaufmann feels like the skincare equivalent of putting on a robe and deciding nobody is allowed to bother you for the next hour. 😂 I first tried one of the body products during a particularly stressful week and immediately understood why people talk about the brand as more of a wellness experience. The formulas feel lovely and the scents are very calming without being the kind of fragrance that follows you around the entire house. I wouldn’t buy everything from the line because, wow, the prices. But for a little self-care splurge, I really enjoy it. It makes an ordinary shower feel weirdly luxurious, which apparently is all I want now.
This toner is loaded with volatile plant extracts and essential oil fragrances that immediately made my cheeks flush red and tingle unpleasantly.

My girlfriend got me a Susanne Kaufmann body lotion and dude it smells fantastic and feels so smooth. I use it after shower every night and my skin used to be kinda dry from mornings working outside. I noticed a difference in just a few days. Its expensive but the bottle lasted a while and feels premium. Would recommend if you want something that feels more luxury.

I liked the minimal packaging and the whole microbiome story sounded cool but I didn’t really see much change. I bought their oil and cleanser and honestly they felt nice but that’s about it. The oil is super runny and just sits on top of my skin. It doesn’t really sink in, so I’d wake up with that greasy film. The cleanser is fine but the smell kinda reminds me of olives left out too long lol.
Also, customer service was slow to respond when my order came leaking. It took them a week to answer and then they only sent me a small replacement bottle. For the price point I was expecting something that would at least make my skin glow or feel softer but nah. I think I got more from a $10 rosehip oil off Amazon.
