Mario Badescu is one of those names I’ve seen mentioned so often that I was curious to explore the range for myself. There’s a lot to choose from, whether you’re looking at facial sprays, cleansers, or products aimed at blemishes. But here’s the thing: a popular product isn’t automatically a match for your skin. I’d pay attention to the ingredients, especially if a formula contains fragrance or ingredients that might be irritating. I’m also not a fan of buying five products because someone online says they work miracles. I’d rather try one, see how my skin responds, and go from there. It’s a familiar brand with some interesting options, but I’d still be selective.
Mario Badescu is one of those brands I feel like everyone has tried at least once. 😂 I definitely had the little facial spray phase in college. I still use a few of their products now, although I’m much more selective about what I put on my face than I used to be. I like their simpler skincare and body products, and there are definitely some affordable little staples in the line. Not everything has worked equally well for me, though, so I wouldn’t blindly buy an entire routine. My favorite thing about the brand is that it doesn’t feel intimidating or overly complicated. You can pick up one product, try it, and move on with your life.
The famous pink drying lotion is basically just isopropyl alcohol and calamine. I dabbed it onto a few surface blemishes before bed hoping they’d shrink overnight. Instead, the heavy alcohol content burned the top layer of my skin raw, leaving behind dark, dry, scabbed patches around the pimples that took two weeks to heal.
Mario Badescu has several simple products that are easy to work into my routine. I especially like the Drying Lotion for occasional breakouts, although some of the other products feel more refreshing than transformative.
This little bottle has lived in my bathroom cabinet forever. I only use the Drying Lotion when I get one of those obvious whiteheads and it usually looks flatter the next morning. It can make the surrounding skin dry if I’m too generous with it, so I’ve learned that one tiny dab is plenty. Not a miracle cure for all acne, but handy for individual spots.
This is one of those brands I remember seeing everywhere when I was younger, so trying it again felt a little nostalgic. Some products have worked better for me than others, but the one I bought this time has been a solid everyday staple. Nothing fancy—just easy and reliable.

The facial spray was refreshing, but the nozzle on my bottle stopped producing a fine mist after a few weeks. I still finished it, though I wish the sprayer were better quality.
I finally tried the famous Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater after hearing so much about it. It feels refreshing during the day and works well for adding a quick boost of hydration, but I didn’t notice lasting skincare benefits from the mist alone. The Drying Lotion, however, helped reduce the appearance of occasional blemishes overnight, making it the standout product for me.
The facial spray smelled nice, but the mister on my bottle sprayed unevenly and left large droplets instead of a fine mist. It wasn’t unusable, just a little disappointing.
