The actual cream formula is lovely, it has a clean botanical citrus scent, sinks into the skin smoothly, and creates a great velvety base for primer. However, grown alchemist’s aluminum squeeze tubes are terrible. After squeezing it from the middle for two weeks, the metal crimped, cracked open along the side seam, and started leaking cream all over my vanity drawer.
I’m not usually someone who gets excited about skincare packaging, but this looks ridiculously nice sitting on my bathroom counter. More importantly, I actually like using it. The texture is good, the routine is simple, and my skin has felt pretty balanced since I started.
The aluminum tube is surprisingly practical. I can squeeze almost all of the product out, and it’s much easier to pack for travel than a bulky jar.
I wasn’t planning to switch moisturizers, but I kept reaching for this one until my old cream expired untouched. That’s probably the best compliment I can give. It feels comfortable on my skin and doesn’t compete with the scent of my perfume.

The moment I try to apply my liquid foundation over it, the primer starts rolling off into tiny white flakes, forcing me to wash my face and start all over again. It works fine if you wear it completely on its own for a matte look, but as an actual makeup primer, it completely fails to do its job.
