Glossier feels like the friend who shows up looking effortlessly put together and insists they barely did anything. 😂 I’m drawn to that whole less-is-more approach, especially on days when I can’t be bothered with a full face of makeup. I like products that let my actual skin look like skin instead of covering every little thing. That said, the minimalist aesthetic can make the hype feel bigger than the products themselves. Not everything is going to be revolutionary, and some items might be easy to replace with something cheaper. But for everyday makeup and that fresh, casual look, I understand the appeal. It’s very much a personal-preference brand.
Glossier was basically responsible for my entire “I want to look like myself but slightly better” makeup phase. 😂 I don’t always want a full face. Most days I just want my skin to look fresh, my brows to look intentional, and my lips to have a little color. That’s where Glossier works really well for me. The products feel easy and forgiving, which is important because I am not standing in front of a mirror for forty minutes before work. I’ve definitely had a few products I didn’t love, but the ones I do love get used constantly.
Glossier’s press-down pump cap on Solution is terribly engineered. I took it on a weekend trip, made sure the cap was turned to the “locked” position, and put it in my toiletry bag. By the time I opened my bag, half the bottle had leaked out, ruining my leather cosmetics bag and bleaching a cotton sweater.
Glossier is perfect when I want quick, natural-looking makeup. The products are easy to use and give that effortless everyday look without feeling heavy.
Boy Brow is one of those products I kept ignoring because I assumed it was overhyped. Turns out I get it now lol. I have brows that are full in some places and weirdly sparse in others, and this gives them enough shape without making them look drawn on. Takes me maybe 30 seconds in the morning. Probably my easiest makeup repurchase.
Okay, I finally understand the hype. 😭 I wanted that very minimal, ‘I woke up like this but somehow better’ look, and this actually gets me pretty close. It’s not what I’d use for a full glam day, but for everyday makeup? Absolutely.
