I used to think a makeup sponge was a makeup sponge. Then I tried a Beautyblender and had one of those annoying “ohhh, that’s why people like it” moments. 😂 My foundation goes on so much more evenly when I use it damp, and I don’t end up with random patches around my nose. My only complaint is that I somehow lose these things constantly. I have genuinely found one under my bed before. I’ve tried cheaper sponges, but I keep coming back to this one.
The original beautyblender really does make applying foundation easier. It gives me a smoother finish than using my fingers, especially around the nose. The annoying part is having to clean it regularly and replace it eventually. For the price, I still think it’s useful.

I bought a new one last month from sephora, and it literally started tearing and ripping apart after the very first wash using their official solid cleanser. For $20 a sponge, it should last longer than a week without disintegrating. They must have cheapened the material.

I’ve gone through several Beautyblenders because, yes—they blend foundation like a dream. But I can’t help feeling they wear out too fast for the price. After a few washes, mine often starts tearing. I still like it for cream blush and concealer, but I think there are dupes that perform just as well at a lower cost. A classic, but not perfect.
